About: About: Leif Beck is a consultant and attorney affiliated with Kalogredis, Sansweet, Dearden and Burke, Ltd. (a health care law firm) and Professional Practice Consulting, Inc. (a health care consulting firm).
Leif commenced both his consulting and law activities almost solely for health care practices and related entities when he founded a nationally known firm providing both services. While advising on all manner of health care organizational issues, he focused mainly on group practice issues, higher-level management concerns and planning matters almost exclusively at the physician and top-administrator level. He is known among healthcare providers and advisors as an independent thinker who sees, expresses and advises by the “big picture” for long-term practice success. This reputation has led to many undertakings as a mediator, facilitator, evaluator and/or expert witness as to medical practice matters.
Leif was the founder, publisher and editor of Advisory Publications, which until 2003 published the widely known “Physician’s Advisory” and “Group Practice Success” newsletters, along with numerous other newsletters, books and reports on medical practice management and related legal issues. He continues to write a monthly “Consultant’s Perspective” column in GPS while engaged full-time again in the consulting and law disciplines.
Previously, Beck was a partner in the Philadelphia law firm Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz, and taught business law part-time at Duke University and at the Wharton School. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University and of its School of Law (with Order of the Coif honors), he is a life member of the National Association of Healthcare Consultants and holds certification in the Institute of Certified Professional Business Consultants.
