Leif C. Beck is of counsel to Kalogredis, Sansweet, Dearden and Burke, Ltd., and an affiliated medical management consultant of its related firm Professional Practice Consulting, Inc. He has advised medical, dental and other health care organizations for over 35 years, specializing in doctor-level matters such as leadership, decision-making, organization, compensation and income sharing, co-ownership arrangements, practice valuations and the like.

Leif was an associate, partner and finally managing partner of Pepper Hamilton & Scheetz (now Pepper Hamilton) in the 1960s. In 1970 he left it and founded the well-known health care consulting firm The Health Care Group and also engaged in law practice just for health care organizations. In 1977 he originated the highly respected medical practice newsletter The Physician’s Advisory, which he wrote and then oversaw as it grew to more than 6,000 medical practice subscribers. He thereupon retired from the firm he had founded and served as owner, publisher and editor-in-chief of Advisory Publications, which grew to ten newsletters, over 20 books and many related reports for physicians in private practice. He sold that company in 2003 and resumed his work as a consultant and attorney, affiliating with KSDB.

Leif graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University and from Duke University School of Law where he served as an editor of its Law Review. During his time in law school, he also taught business law in the undergraduate department of economics, played #1 on the varsity tennis team (winning one ACC championship) and served as chief tutor of the football team.

During his working career, he has been active in inner city health and education undertakings sponsored by three different religions. He also won the Middle States (PA, DE and NJ) tennis championship three times and competed in men’s national championship tournaments for ten years.
